CHOICE OF SUBJECTS AND ADMISSION PROCESS (2022-23)

MAJOR SUBJECTS:

• First and Foremost, NEP is based on a six month Semester System.
• The student has to select either Science Faculty or Arts Faculty.
• Faculties have been divided into four categories:
1. Faculty of Language
2. Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
3. Faculty of Fine Arts & Performing Arts
4. Faculty of Science
• The student has to necessarily select :
1. Three Major Subjects; OR
2. Two Major subjects to be selected by the student from 'any one faculty' OR
3. The Third Major subject can be selected from either the same Faculty OR any other Faculty.
• Bachelor's Degree will be awarded to the student on the basis of selection of two Major subjects from one Faculty.
1. e.g. Selection of two subjects from Fine Arts & Performing Arts Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts & Performing Arts will be awarded
2. e.g. Selection of two subjects from Faculty of Science Bachelor's Degree of B.Sc. will be awarded.

MINOR SUBJECTS:

1. Each student has to compulsorily select One Minor subject from Any Faculty.
2. If a student has taken three Major subjects from one Faculty then she has to choose the Minor subject from a different faculty.
3. The Minor subject has to be taken on an "Odd and Even Basis" i.e. If a student has taken Minor in the First semester, she has to take it in the Third semester. Likewise, Minor in the Second Semester will be taken next in the Fourth Semester.

ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDIT (ABC) 2022-23

1. An Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) will be established for the students.
2. ABC will digitally 'store the academic credits' earned by the students.
3. The Degree will be awarded to the student taking into account the credits earned by her.
4. If a student - in any case–leaves her studies:
1. Midway, then her credits earned on a prior basis would be deposited in the Credit Bank.
2. As a follow up to (i), when the student seeks re-admission for final degree, the credits earned by her previously would be added in her final credit score.
5. The above procedure regarding ABC details would be On-Line only.

VOCATIONAL COURSES:

1. Every student has to compulsorily take one Vocational Course in each Semester (from First to Fourth Semester)
2. The student has to change her Vocational Course in the next Year.

1. School Psychology
2. Physical Education and Sports

VOCATIONAL COURSE FOR SCIENCE (B.Sc. Ist Semester)

1. Food Processing and Preservation

CO-CURRICULAR COURSE

• Each student has to take the Co-Curricular Course compulsorily in each Semester (from 1st to 6th semester)
• Food Nutrition and Hygiene (Co-Curricular for the Ist Semester)

CERTIFICATE / DIPLOMA / DEGREE BEING AWARDED TO STUDENTS:

1. If a student leaves after completion of first two semesters, she will be awarded a CERTIFICATE.
2. If a student leaves after completion of four semesters i.e. 1st – 4th semester, she will be awarded a DIPLOMA.
3. If a student leaves after completion of six semesters i.e. 1st – 6th semester (3 Years) she will be awarded a DEGREE.
4. If a student is interested in doing any Research Project in the 4th year, she will be awarded RESEARCH DEGREE for Graduation.
5. In continuation, if a student opts for research in MA, she will be awarded Degree for Post-Graduation.
